Dear KGHS Students and Parents/Guardians,
It is with a great deal of pride and pleasure that I welcome you to the 2026-27 school year! I trust that the summer break gave you the chance to rest and prepare for the many opportunities that await you. As your principal, I look forward to seeing you and assisting you in making your experience at KGHS enjoyable and memorable. Below I have highlighted some important dates and information for beginning a successful school year.
First Day of School Year The first day of school for freshmen is Tuesday, August 11, 2026 (Transition Day). The first day of school for sophomores, juniors, and seniors is Wednesday, August 12, 2026. 1 st block classes will start at 7:25 AM. The school day will end at 2:15 PM. The regular bell schedule is as follows:

*KG PASS will begin the second week of school and will occur two times per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays only). KG PASS will be used for enrichment, remediation, study hall, and club activities. The KG PASS Schedule is as follows:

KGHS Open House/Schedules Open House is scheduled for Thursday, August 6, 2026. Open House will begin at 4:00 pm and end at 6:00 pm. Open House for freshmen and new students will be 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. followed by sophomores, juniors, and seniors at 5 pm. You and your parents/guardians will have the opportunity to meet your teachers, school counselors, and the administrative team. Please be certain to have your parents/guardians complete the back to school registration paperwork located in PowerSchool. You may access student schedules prior to Open House. The Parent Portal will open on August 5, 2026. Parent Portal support will be provided in the cafeteria for those who need help accessing the class schedule at Open House. Our PowerSchool district code is WWMT. Please bring your schedule if you are able.
During Open House, parents of freshmen and juniors may register their student for the PSAT (Preliminary SAT) to be administered October 28th. The cost is $20. All 10th graders are eligible for the test with the fee covered by KGCS, however they will need to opt-in by September 30th. Please fill out the form PSAT Opt-In Form for any 9th, 10th or 11th grade students wanting to opt in for the PSAT testing.
