KGHS Pep Really Opt-Out Form

Dear Students/Families,

We’re excited to announce we’ll be hosting our annual Pep Rally on Friday, October 1st from 1-2:30 during Block Four. It will take place on the KGHS football field. Please know we will utilize all perimeters of the football field including both the visitor and home bleachers and the end zones to ensure student and staff safety.

If your child DOES NOT WANT TO PARTICIPATE in this event, please know there will be staff inside the school to monitor those individuals. To plan accordingly, please complete the section below, detach and have the student return it to his or her Block One teacher by Tuesday, September 28, 2021.

Thanks in advance for your support!

Chromebook Checkout

At this point, all students should have completed the King George  County Schools Device Check Out Program Form. This form will indicate the conditions for technology agreement as well as acknowledging that a device must be present in the classroom (school-provided or/personal device).

If you or your child has not completed and returned the form with your selection, please do so. Forms are available in the Main Office or the KGHS Library and should also be returned to the KGHS Library. KGHS ITL, Mr. Mir, will issue a device if one is needed.

If you or your child run into issues with the device, please have them stop by the Library for troubleshooting. The three most common issues currently are:

1. Chromebook will not connect to the internet at home: Solution: Student must be at school > Log into the Chromebook > Sign out of the Chromebook > The device should restart with the updated profile.

2. Chromebook is not charging: Solution 1: Make sure the charger and all its parts are connected together. If no charging light on the Chromebook > flip the charger's connection to the Chromebook the other way. Solution 2: If that did not work, have the student see Mr. Mir in the KGHS Library. The Student must bring both the charger and Chromebook.

3. Chromebook Seems Possessed/Clicking on its Own: Solution: Most likely the digitizer has gone bad. However, make sure that the screen is clean with a glasscleaner. If that did not work, have the student see Mr. Mir in the KGHS Library. The Student must bring the charger and Chromebook.

Google Meet with Dr. Boyd (Virtually)

I wanted to extend an opportunity for students/parents to communicate with me as we move forward during the school year. Public education has changed drastically in response to COVID-19 and as we navigate these changes I'd like to partner with you.

Beginning August 6th, I will make myself available virtually using Google Meet sessions for those interested in talking with me. Please Register HERE to schedule a time to meet. If you're unable to meet or prefer email, please know that I'll continue to be available via email anytime.

I will continue to provide this opportunity until further notice. I look forward to working with you as together we address these challenging times.

Please bear with us as website information is being updated for the 2021-22 school year.
