Matt Stemmler - Athletic Trainer - mstemmler@kgcs.k12.va.us
Mr. Stemmler is entering his fourth year as the Athletic Trainer at King George High School. Mr. Stemmler joined the Foxes after working as the Head Athletic Trainer at Graham Park Middle school as well as serving as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at Forest Park High School. Prior to that, Mr. Stemmler served as an Athletic Training intern on the Washington Redskins’ Sports Medicine staff during the 2013 NFL season. While working with the Redskins, he assisted with the prevention, rehabilitation and care of the athletes, as well as the day-to-day operations of the sports medicine department for all practices and home games.
Mr. Stemmler earned his bachelor’s degree in Athletic Training from George Mason University. He then earned his master’s degree from George Mason in Exercise, Fitness, and Health Promotion. In addition to being a certified athletic trainer, Mr. Stemmler holds the Tactical Strength and Conditioning Facilitator and Certified Strength and Conditioning Coach certifications through the National Strength and Conditioning Association.
